At Novobuild we have a range of barns in a host of sizes to suit all sorts of uses. Whether you require a workshop, gallery, stable, office, storeroom or week-ender, there is a barn to suit you. For small to mid-size barns there is the economical Sundown range. For customers wanting a bigger, stronger building there is the Covermaster range.
American Barn. The first two illustrations at right shows what is known as an American style barn. They have two stage roofs with the centre section at the normal 15 degrees or the heritage pitch at 26 degrees. Barns may have an annex at one side or both sides as shown. Annex roofs are always 15 degrees pitch.
The first photo shows the clear panels in the wall section between the two roofs. This allows natural lighting to enter the building even though the roof is insulated.
The second illustration shows another American style barn. It also has the 26 degrees centre section, but it is a wider span than the first building. The doors are much larger with one at each end making it a drive-through building.
The American style barns lend themselves to be fitted out as stables. The internal columns are ideally located to act as supports for timber or metal dividing panels.
American Barn with awnings. This barn has the 15 + 15 degree roof with an awning added to each side. The higher annexes (to allow for the awnings) slightly reduces the size of the step down between the centre and annex roofs.
This is an ideal design for use as a farm machinery shed, workshop or stables. Similar buildings have been used for stud stock houses and on vineyards for processing and storage of wine. The awnings offer additional covered storage area and protect the walls from early and late sun rays. The increase in roof size also increases the area for catching valuable rain water.
Aussie Barn. These sheds have the typical Australian roof line with the annex or awning fitted as an extension of the main roof line. This reduces cost and simplifies catchment of rain water by having one lot of guttering each side of the building.
With Aussie barns you can have open or enclosed, or partly open awnings and annexes. Choose between low cost plain zinc or attractive pre-coloured finish in either traditional corrugated or modern high profile cladding.
Aussie barns make great week-enders, huts, construction or mine site sheds, etc. They are simple to line internally and their all steel construction makes them hard to burn or damage, and resistant to termites.
Ranbuild Lodge When you want something better, bigger or stronger than a barn, look no further than our range of lodges. The higher and wider Lodges can be supplied with part or full mezzanine floors to provide two full height levels for storage, offices or living space.
Our Lodges are modular design allowing you to have one or two annexes, a variety of spans, choice of two wall heights, two roof pitches and any number of bays long. Windows, doors and highlights may be fitted almost anywhere around the walls, and skylights in the roof.
Like all the Ranbuild Covermaster series of buildings, Lodges have galvanised steel frames with the wall girts and roof purlins fitted between the columns and rafters. This unique design greatly simplifies and substantially reduces the cost of lining the building.
The illustrations on the right show just a couple of ways lodges have been designed and assembled to suit customer's requirements. In both cases these are standard, pre engineered, pre fabricated buildings with options added where required. They cost only a fraction of the price and were completed in less than half the time it could have taken for a similar custom made building.
Although Lodges are delivered as a kit with all components and assembly instructions, we suggest you have your building professionally erected. If required, we can provide you with a selection of experienced building erectors.
